Hat Time
Miami Billfish Tournament
The Annual YCMBT was going to be held in our back yard. Our bet was that given 3 days of fishing, we could pull something out of the ocean worthy of the scales in the
Fun fish division. What we did not know was that we were going to wait unti the 11 th hour to do it. Day one of the tournement found the weather a little breezy, but the
fishing was not too easy. At the end of Day 1 it was only a small dolphin and a small black fin tuna to show. Day two revealed breezier conditions and the waves were up.
Catching bait at the sea buoy was no easy task. Then, the few baits that were caught were expertly released when the Captain ran over the lines. Speedo release X 2 for
Captain Grego !! A few schoolie dolphin for the day on the troll and Day 2 was a wrap. Okay, now it was Day 3 and time to get serious. The seas were friendly and there
was nothing but blue skies.  The baits cooperated and instead of trolling we switched to live-baiting out of the riggers. In 70 feet of water, NW of the boil Alex picked up a
spinner that had just screamed to life. Twenty minutes later Billie dropped the gaff into the second place King of the YCMBT. Nice job by all. The awards banquet was
sweet and a good time was had by all but an even better time was had by Jimmie !! We got a nice trophy, money, shoes and a Hydro - glo light. I predict SWORDFISH  !!
